To provide a hinge configured with a less number of component parts and requiring less time and labor to perform assembling.
The hinge is equipped chiefly with a shaft 1 shaped in a stepped circular column, a base 5 to hold the shaft 1 rotatably, a fastening member 15 in the form of a coil spring fitted on the shaft 1 in the fastened condition, and a hold-down member 17 to secure the forefront 15b of the fastening member 15 to the base 5. The base end 15a of the fastening member 15 is arranged over an engaging piece 8 provided on the base 5 in such a way as movable in the circumferential direction within a specified range. The base 5 has a vertical piece 7 which is furnished with engagement parts 10 for hindering the fastening member 15 from diametric enlargement to take place beyond the specified range. The shaft 1 to make sliding rotation relative to the fastening member 15 causes the diameter of the fastening member 15 to vary according to the rotating direction, and it is possible to generate different rotational torques.
