To provide a hoist crane capable of stably supporting a suspending cargo and capable of lowering the suspending cargo in a short time even at power failure time.
This hoist crane having hoist mechanisms 12 and 13 for lifting the suspending cargo LD via a wire WR and driving motors 14 and 15 with a brake for driving the hoist mechanisms 12 and 13, is provided with brake releasing devices 30 and 31 for releasing the brake of the driving motors 14 and 15 and auxiliary brake devices 32 and 33 separately from the brake of the driving motors 14 and 15, for braking the hoist mechanisms 12 and 13 when electric power supply stops. The auxiliary brake devices 32 and 33 are provided with auxiliary brake adjusting mechanisms 34 and 35 for adjusting braking force to the hoist mechanisms 12 and 13.
