This parking device includes a guide rail 51, which has a pair of guide surfaces 61, 62 provided along the rising and falling direction of pallets, and a guide element 53 which has a pair of upper and lower guide rollers 63, 64 rolling within the pair of guide surfaces 61, 62 of the guide rail 51. The guide element 53 has an engaging part 74 for engagement with the pallet and has lifting parts 68, 69 to which a drive chain raising and lowering the pallet is connected, the engaging part 74 and lifting parts 68, 69 of the guide element 53 being held in relative positions such that rotary moment M is produced whereby the pair of upper and lower guide rollers 63, 64 are pressed against the pair of guide surfaces 61, 62 of the guide rails 51, 52 by the lifting force F2 of the drive chain and the load F1 of the pallet.
