PURPOSE: To provide a cylindrical-workpiece holding device capable of accurately centering workpieces when holding them and dealing with a variety of workpieces of different diameters.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided on a horizontal frame 1 to hold a cylindrical workpiece within the cylinder of the workpiece and to suspend the workpiece upright below the frame 1, and has a center gear 2 forming a pair of parallel axial gears, a plurality of outer peripheral gears 22, 22... equally spaced around the center gear 21, and a pin 24 provided to each outer peripheral gear 22, 22... in such a way as to project downward to hold the cylindrical workpiece from inside its cylinder.
