PURPOSE: To perform simple and low-cost finish machining, such as mirror finishing, of the inner surface of a hole.
CONSTITUTION: A shape having diameter larger than the inside diameter of a hole H in a given high temperature state is stored in a spring-form machining member 1 made of a shape memory alloy. After the machining member is inserted in the hole H at an ordinary temperature (a low temperature), the machining member is energized for heating to temperature necessary for a shape to be returned to the stored state. This method and constitution bring the spring-form machining member 1 into a state to be pressed against a hole inner surface S. With this state, mirror machining is applied on the hole inner surface S by compressing and elongating the spring-form machining member 1 as necessary abrasives and machining liquid are fed.
