Abstract:
A double open-ended hollow fiber membrane element provided with a core tube having a plurality of holes in a side surface, a hollow fiber membrane group formed from a plurality of hollow fiber membranes disposed around the core tube, and a resin wall affixed at both ends of the core tube and hollow fiber membrane group, wherein both ends of the core tube and the plurality of hollow fiber membranes are open. The hollow fiber membrane group includes a first hollow fiber membrane layer constituted of a plurality of first hollow fiber membranes disposed so as to surround the periphery of the core tube and a second hollow fiber membrane layer constituted from a plurality of second hollow fiber membranes disposed so as to surround the periphery of the first hollow fiber membrane layer, and the inside diameter of the plurality of first hollow fiber membranes is larger than the inside diameter of the plurality of second hollow fiber membranes.
