Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the damage of hollow fiber membranes, to make smooth membrane sepn., to simplify structure and to miniaturize the hollow fiber membrane module.
CONSTITUTION: Sealing and fixing parts 3 are formed at the ends of a hollow fiber bundle 2 consisting of the plural hollow fiber membranes 1 and this hollow fiber bundle 2 is inserted into an air permeable or liquid permeable protective cylinder 9. Both ends of this protective cylinder 9 are fixed to the sealing and fixing parts 3. The parts of the protective cylinder 9 corresponding to a supply port 4a and outflow port 4b of a casing 5 are formed as shielding parts 10 for regulating the passage of fluid. At the time of the membrane separating treatment, the hollow fiber bundle 2 is protected by the shielding parts 10 of a small area even if a large pressure acts concentrically to the parts of the protective cylinder 9 corresponding to the supply port 4a and the outflow port 4b. The impairment of the smooth membrane sepn. does not arise. Since shielding members, etc., do not exist between the casing 5 and the protective cylinder 9, the structure is simple and the assembly is easy.
