Title:
HOLLOW FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS56148908
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: A hollow fiber made from cuprammonium cellulose in which parts of the membrane wall with a uniform and specific thickness and the other wall-taick parts with projections extend continuously in the fiber axis direction, thus being used for hemodialysis or other purposes, because it has high permeation selectivity, high strength and no adhesion to other fibers.

CONSTITUTION: Cellulose is dissolved in a cuproammonium complex to prepare a spinning dope and the dope is extruded through a specific nozzle 3 that is composed of the inner nozzle 4 for introducing the core solution and a ring slit 5 for extruding the dope with projected spaces 6 for forming wall-thick parts on the fiber surface 2. d-Limonene is used as a core solution and the dope is extruded from the nozzle 3 into a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution. Then, the fibers are introduced into a sulfuric acid bath to regenerate cellulose to produce the objective hollow fiber 1 that is composed of continuous extention along the fiber axis of parts with uniform thickness less than 16μ and of the other parts with wall-thick projection.
