Abstract:
PURPOSE:To produce a hollow molded article with an excellent matter-finishing effect and scratch resistance and capable of accelerating the aging of a liquid contained in it by forming the hollow molded article from a polyester resin compsn. which contains a particulate ceramic and has a specified glossiness. CONSTITUTION:A hollow molded article is produced from a polyester resin compsn. contg. 0.1-30wt.% particulate ceramic with a mean particle diameter of 0.05-5mum and having a degree of specular gloss of the stretched sheet surface of 20-170%. At least 80mole% of the repeating structural units of the polyester resin used is ethylene terephthalate or ethylene-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate unit. Examples of the liquid of which the aging is found to be accelerated in the hollow article include alcoholic drinks such as Japanese sake, white distilled liquor, brandy, wine, etc. The drinks after the accelerated aging give a smooth taste, not a stimulating taste peculiar to alcoholic drinks.
