To provide a hollow plate material which is easy to assemble and hardly causes geometric distortion such as warpage, buckle, or torsion.
A hollow plate material for a building and furniture comprises a front plate, a rear plate, and an intermediate core material, each of which is made of wood. The intermediate core material has a larger thickness compared to the front plate or the rear plate. The front plate is laminated on the front face of the intermediate core material and the rear plate is laminated on the rear face, for bonding. The intermediate core material is provided with a plurality of parallel concave grooves on top and rear surfaces. The concave grooves on the top face and the concave grooves on the rear face are alternately arranged facing the parallel direction of the concave grooves.
