Abstract:

To provide a hollow constituent part for a gas turbine engine such as, for example, an outlet guide vane.

This hollow constituent part 110 is assembled by main bodies 26, 126, 226 having recessed pockets 30, 130, 230 formed in them and aerodynamic covers 28, 128, 228 connected by covering the pockets 30, 130, 230. Both of the covers 28, 128, 228 and the main bodies 30, 130, 230 are manufactured by a material unable to be easily fusion-welded. The covers 28, 128, 228 are firmly fixed to the main bodies 26, 126, 226 by a solid phase connection method, for example, friction stirring joining. The hollow constituent part 10 is formed by many individual constituent parts connected mutually by the solid phase connection method such as friction stirring joining.
