To provide a home elevator used in a dwelling house as an improvement on a conventional arrangement based on the winding drum type using rope, traction type, screw type, and the direct hydraulic type involving such inconvenience that the structure is rather complicated to require labor for installing in the dwelling house and to require a high cost.

The home elevator includes a frame part 2 fixed to a building 8 and a car part 3 installed on the frame part 2 in such a way as capable of rising and falling, wherein the car side door part 5 installed on the car part 3 is formed so that the opening and closing motions of a car side outer door 5D and the opening and closing motions of a car side inner door are interlocked, while a building side doorway part 6 provided at each floor of the building is configured so that the opening and closing motions of a building side outer door and the opening and closing motions of a building side inner door are interlocked, and between the car side outer door and the building side inner door, opening/closing pieces 7 are provided to make engagement with each other.
