PURPOSE: To provide the honeycomb structural body which is firstly suitable for use in high-temp. environment with the additionally improved oxidation resistance at a high temp., is secondly excellent in terms of production costs with the shortened working time at the time of production and is thirdly long in life and is consequently excellent in terms of the product costs with the decreased damages by the heat of the vacuum furnace and jigs used for production.

CONSTITUTION: The corrugated sheet materials 2 and flat sheet materials 3 of the honeycomb structural body 1 is constituted by joining the corrugated sheet materials 2 and the flat sheet materials 3 via brazing filler metals 4 so as to alternately exist and has a roll shape, laminated block shape, etc., over the entire part consist of ferritic stainless steels. Aluminum-based brazing filler metals are used as the brazing filler metals 4. Firstly, the aluminum in the brazing filler metals 4 is diffused into the corrugated sheet materials 2 and flat sheet materials 3 by brazing and joining, by which the content of the aluminum therein is increased. Secondly, the brazing filler metals 4 formed by using the aluminum-based brazing filler metals are low in brazing temp. and, therefore, the working time is shortened. Thirdly, the damages by the heat of the vacuum furnace and the jigs are decreased.
