Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure, a filter using the same, and an exhaust gas treatment apparatus, capable of restraining melting and cracking generated on an upstream end portion and a downstream end portion over a long period.SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 1 includes a plurality of circulating holes 2 partitioned by a partition wall 4 having a wall surface 4a along the axial direction and a sealing member 3 that alternately seals each of one end and the other end of the plurality of circulating holes 2. In the honeycomb structure 1, end faces of both sides of the honeycomb structure 1 are curved into a protruding shape and, in a sealing member 3 disposed around the one circulating hole 2, and the positions where an inner surface 3a of the adjacent sealing members 3 and a wall surface 4a cross are different from each other. When the positions are different, the stress generated at the crossing position between the inner surface 3a of the adjacent sealing member 3 and the wall surface 4a even if heating is repeated is more apt to be relieved than when the crossing positions between the inner surface 3a of the adjacent sealing member 3 and the wall surface 4a meet each other, thus restraining generation of cracking and melting generated at the position.
