PURPOSE: To provide the mounting construction of a hood bumper in which a bracket is formed integrally with a fender flange.

CONSTITUTION: A flange engaging leg part 22 is formed at the bottom center of a hood bumper 20 in lateral direction of a vehicle, a pair of slits 22a passing through in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle according to the thickness of a flange 3a are formed on both sides of its upper end part in lateral direction of the vehicle in a clearance with a hood bumper bottom surface, and a pair of flange contacting leg part 23 made in contact with the flange 3a from the upper part is formed on both sides of the hood bumper bottom surface in the lateral direction of the vehicle. Also a pair of reverse-L shaped brackets 30 forming slit close-fit surfaces 32 which are opposed each other at a clearance in the lateral direction of the vehicle and fitted closely to the brackets 22a by raising them are formed on the flange 3a. Then the hood bumper 20 is slid in longitudinal direction to close fit the slit close-fit surfaces 32 into the slit 22a by sliding the hood bumper 20 in longitudinal direction, and the pair of flange contacting leg parts 23 are made in contact with the flange 3a while it is held by the bracket 30.
