This horizontal multidirectional carrying device is composed of a plurality of storage sheds P, and a lifting carrying device A for carrying in and out an article to the selected storage sheds by stopping in the same horizontal position of these storage sheds. The lifting carrying device A is provided with a plurality of carrier chains freely switched in the laternal direction, and plurality of carrier rollers arranged between the plurality of these respective chains, and freely switched in the longitudinal direction. Either one of the carrier chains or the carrier rollers selects the carrying direction of either of lateral or longitudinal direction by floating on a horizontal plane. The plurality of storage sheds P are provided with delivery driving devices X1, X2, Y1 and Y2 for forcedly delivering the article from the lifting carrying device A. When the lifting carrying device A stops in the same horizontal position as the storage sheds P, the driving force of the carrier chains or the carrier rollers is transmitted to these delivery driving devices X1, X2, Y1 and Y2 for driving.
