Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally guide a strip on a supporting roller by stretching a second flexible driving member along a base in a traveling rang of a supporting and traveling mechanism, and guiding the supporting and traveling mechanism through a drive wheel located therebelow.
SOLUTION: In a horizontal strip storage equipment, a supporting and traveling mechanism 19 travels on a track 29 by wheels 34, and is guided by side guide wheels 35. A second flexible driving member 7 is stretched along a base in the range of a traveling passage of the supporting and traveling mechanism 19, and guided through each driving member 78 and a second cooperating drive wheel 21 located therebelow. A first drive wheel 20 is kinetically connected tot he second drive wheel 21 through a transmission mechanism. Optimum guide of different strip transfer passages 1b, 1d is performed thereby. Traveling free from any shock of the supporting and traveling mechanism 19 is guaranteed at the same time.
