Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain excellent sealing strength for a long time by forming an adhesive layer, which contains acrylonitrile butadiene and novolak type phenol resin at a specific ratio, between a thermoplastic resin layer and an insertion part surface of a joint.
SOLUTION: An adhesive layer is formed between the surface of an insertion part in a metallic joint and a thermoplastic resin innermost layer of a hose. The adhesive layer contains a mixture of acrylonitrile butadiene and novolak type phenol resin at a weight ratio of 60/40-30/70. The mixture is dissolved in organic solvent at a concentration of about 15-25% by weight in an organic solvent type adhesive composition. The organic solvent type adhesive composition is applied onto the surface of the joint insertion part or onto the inside face of a hose, and after drying it, an adhesive layer is formed when the joint is inserted into the hose. The adhesive layer may be formed on the whole of the joint surface or only in a ring type groove arranged on the joint surface. In this way, a sealing property can be maintained for a long time.
