PURPOSE: To improve durability against repeated application of pressure by forming a reinforcing fiber layer of combined yarn formed of core fiber and outer fiber made of aromatic polyamide fiber and wound spirally around the outer peripheral surface of the core fiber, and forming the core fiber of fiber lower in the modulus of elasticity than the outer fiber.

CONSTITUTION: In a rubber hose 1, the fiber forming an intermediate reinforcing fiber layer 2 is formed of combined yarn 5, and this combined yarn 5 is formed by winding the outer peripheral surface of core fiber, lower in the modulus of elasticity than outer fiber, spirally with aromatic polyamide fiber higher in the modulus of elasticity than the core fiber. This combined yarn 5 thereby has larger elongation, so that the elongation of the reinforcing layer 2 can be made larger compared to the existing case of forming the reinforcing fiber layer only of the aromatic polyamide fiber. Because of the aromatic polyamide fiber being wound around the outer peripheral surface of the core fiber, this combined yarn 5 can also hold strength and heat resistance approximately equal to those of the existing reinforcing fiber layer.
