Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the time for connecting crude bars preventing a drop of a temperature of the bar.
SOLUTION: A roughing mill 1, a solenoid-type induction heater 3, a connector 4 and a finishing mill 5 are disposed in such an order as this sequence. Temperatures of a top edge and a bottom edge of the crude bar are raised to around the required temperature by the solenoid-type induction heater 3 on the way being carried to the finishing mill 5 from the roughing mill 1. Thus, a heating time at a connecting unit 4 is reduced as well as a heat loss of the crude bar is reduced.
