PURPOSE: To enable complete descaling at conventional descaling pressure by providing a leveler on the upstream side o descaling nozzles.
CONSTITUTION: After steel 1 is bent with the leveler rolls 6 of a leveler 5 and its camber is straightened, descaling is executed by water jets from movable descaling nozzles 4. The pressure of the water jet is 150kg/cm2 that is conventionally usually adopted. Descaling headers 3 are vertically movable and set to a height suitable to descaling for every materials. Then, the descaling device is made to approch the material, so the scale is completely removed by taking the distances from the material as respectively ≤40mm on the upside and downside at the pressure of 150kg/cm2. Even an Si-scale, for example, which is not conventionally removable because of its strong adhesion to the material is removed.
