PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of shortening time required for detecting a water level in a bathtub and of improving accuracy of the detection of the water level.SOLUTION: A water heater performs a water level detection operation for updating the latest water level in a bathtub on the basis of a plurality of measurement values measured by a water level sensor. In the water level detection operation, a dispersion of calculation target measurement values comprising a specified number of measurement values from the latest is calculated, and whether the calculated dispersion belongs to a predetermined reference range is determined. When the dispersion belongs to the reference range, the latest measurement value out of the calculation target measurement values is updated as the latest water level. When the dispersion does not belong to the reference range, the latest measurement value is newly measured by the water level sensor to perform a determination operation again. At this time, when the frequency of executed determination operations reaches upper limit frequency, a value calculated from the calculation target measurement values is updated as the latest water level.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
