Title:
HOTMELTING CLADDING BY SHEET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6140134
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eable a long period of corrosion resistance of vehicles used on the seaside area, prevention of damage of paint film by sprung stones and to simplify repair of rusted hole parts etc. by a method wherein the surface of a thermoplastic resin sheet having a specified thickness or thicker is heated until it is nearly softened and melted and at the same time the surface of the metallic base is heated at a higher temperature, then, both surfaces are stuck to each other at once.

CONSTITUTION: The scheduled part to be repaired of the base 1 and the surface of the sheet 3 are heated over the softening point of resin constructing the sheet 3. When the surface of the resin layer 3 begins to soften and melt, the sheet is turned over, the surface of the resin layer 3 is abouted to the shedulod part to be repaired of the base 1, compressed from the surface of the sheet 4 for a time and then cooled to harden the resin layer. All thermoplastic resin weldable to metallic base and paint film can be used but a composite sheet of two layer type combined with heat resisting resin 10°C higher in thermal deformation temperature than signal resin is used more suitable. The thickness of the thermoplastic resin sheet must be 1.5mm or more. When the thickness is less than 1.5mm, the sheet may be bent or perforated by heat.
