Abstract:
To provide an assembly method of a constant velocity joint capable of securing a seal surface pressure by a boot.SOLUTION: An assembly method of a constant velocity joint includes: a first positioning process (S1) for positioning a reference position P1 on an outer peripheral surface of an outer joint member 11 at a prescribed angle in a circumferential direction in a state of mounting a boot 30 on the outer joint member 11; a second positioning process (S2) for positioning a Ω-shaped caulking portion 42a of a boot clamp 40 within a specified range θ based on the reference position P1 of the outer joint member 11 in the circumferential direction, so that a clearance Sp between a circumferential end face 41b of an inner overlapping portion 41 of the boot clamp 40 and a circumferential end face 43c of an intermediate portion 43 is positioned on thick portions 31a, 31b of the boot 30; and a caulking process (S3) for performing caulking to the Ω-shaped caulking portion 42a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
