Abstract:
SOLUTION: An object phoropter uses an illuminated keratometer object to project the illumination light to a cornea of a subject and causes an imaging camera to form an image of the reflection. The image processing of the image is used to improve the focusing and centering of an eye of the cornea subject. When the correct focus location of the eye with respect to the keratometer object is once acquired, the correct longitudinal direction position of the eye with respect to a lens wheel assembly can be achieved.EFFECT: More correct prescription generation than a system of a prior art that cannot correctly position the eye with respect to a lens wheel can be obtained. Also, a lens combination of the entire phoropter wheel can be calibrated by using an artificial eye having an aberration at an adjustable level. Each lens combination is adjusted so as to presume that the selected aberration level is corrected, and the measured arbitrary residual aberration represents the correction applied to the lens combination.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
