Abstract:
To provide a method for decomposing plastics, promoting hydrolysis of a plastic containing polyester resin to increase decomposition rate and recovering a resin material in easily reusable form.
The method for decomposing plastics comprises treating plastics containing polyester resin comprising polyhydric alcohol and acid by using subcritical water mixed with polycarboxylic acid (step A, step B) to decompose the polyester resin into the polyhydric alcohol and the acid.
