To provide a method for treating an organic waste which can be suitably used for converting nitrogen in an organic nitrogen compound containing in the organic waste in high concentration to ammonia.
A method of treating organic waste includes a process for decomposing an organic nitrogen compound in the organic waste under an anaerobic atmosphere by mixing the organic waste with an enteric bacteria culture producing protease, and a method of treating organic waste includes a process of treating organic waste with enteric bacteria, a process of separating an ammonia constituent generated by the process and a process of carrying out methane fermentation with low nitrogen containing organic waste as a row material obtained after treatment by the process.
