Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required to set a potential of a gate of a driving transistor to an initial value.SOLUTION: In a data write period P1, a potential Vdata is supplied from a data line 14 to a gate of a driving transistor Tdr and an electrode Ea1 of a capacitive element Ca, so that a voltage corresponding to the potential Vdata is held in the capacitive element Ca. In a compensation period P2, the gate of the driving transistor Tdr is connected to a drain of the driving transistor and an electrode Eb1 of a capacitive element Cb, so that a voltage corresponding to a threshold voltage Vth of the driving transistor Tdr is held in the capacitive element Cb. In a drive period P3, an electrode Ea2 of the capacitive element Ca and the electrode Eb1 of the capacitive element Cb are electrically connected by a transistor Tr1, so that the potential of the gate of the driving transistor Tdr is set to a potential corresponding to the potential Vdata and the threshold voltage Vth and an electro-optic element E is driven with a tone corresponding to the set potential.
