Abstract:
The method involves defining a curved path with e.g. a specified steering angle. A signal representing the desired path is passed in a form suitable for processing by an electronic control unit to an actuator influencing yaw motion. The derived curved path signal can be used to vary longitudinal forces on wheels so a longitudinal force can be applied to a wheel(s) in addition to/instead of setting a steering turn angle to drive on desired path The method involves the driver defining the curved path with a specified steering angle (deltaLR) or similar, whereby a signal representing the desired path is passed in a form suitable for processing by an electronic control unit to an actuator influencing vehicle yaw motion. The curved path signal derived from the specified steering angle and vehicle speed (VFzg) and especially representing the yaw rate can be used to vary the longitudinal forces on the wheels in the sense of pilot control so that a longitudinal force can be applied to at least one vehicle wheel in addition to or instead of setting a steering turn angle on at least one wheel to drive on the desired curved path
