Abstract:
To provide a method for suitably inspecting the refractory of an atmospheric furnace.SOLUTION: A method for inspecting the refractory of an atmospheric furnace is the one for inspecting the refractory of an atmospheric furnace containing: a heating chamber; a refractory arranged around the heating chamber; and a steel shell arranged at the outside of the refractory. The method comprises the steps of: measuring the temperature of the steel shell during working of the atmospheric furnace (S1-1); measuring the residual thickness of the refractory at the place with the temperature measured and the thickness of an infiltration layer formed at the refractory (S1-2); obtaining the damage rate of the refractory based on the residual thickness of the refractory and the thickness of the infiltration layer (S1-3); obtaining a correspondence between the damage rate and the temperature of the steel shell (S1-4); determining a standard temperature corresponding to a prescribed standard damage rate from the correspondence (S1-5); and inspecting whether the temperature of the steel shell is below the standard temperature or not (S2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
