Abstract:
A embossing roll for producing a positive structure on a thermoplastic sheet subsequently thermoformed into a three-dimensional product has a negative structured surface. In order to compensate for differential stretching of the sheet during thermoforming the roll is compressed in those areas in which an extension of the sheet occurs during thermoforming.
