Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing a polarizer which obtains a polarizer having excellent optical properties, and more particularly, to a method for manufacturing a polarizer obtained by sequentially performing a cleaning process and a drying process after at least a dyeing process, a cross-linking process, and a stretching process are performed on a polyvinylalcohol-based film. The drying process includes a process of drying the polyvinylalcohol-based film while applying tension of 0.1 to 1 N/mm in a transfer direction of the polyvinylalcohol-based film. In addition, the polyvinylalcohol-based film satisfies a condition of equation (1), y >= 0.7x + 1.77 (In the equation (1), x is greater than or equal to 5.6 and y is less than or equal to 7) when a total stretching magnification after the cleaning process is defined as x and a total stretching magnification after the drying process is defined as y.
