Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for identifying stack sections of mailings that are sorted according to a distribution sequence in sorting machines. Once the recipient addresses have been read and allocated to the holding points of the distribution sequence, the last or the first and last mailing of a section of the stack to be identified is/are provided automatically with an easily detachable adhesive label (5) that is highly visible in the stack, by means of an automatic adhesive label dispenser (3), which is positioned in the sorting machine downstream of the reading unit (4) for distribution information and upstream of the distribution device (1). The adhesive labels (5) are then removed from the mailings again during the course of the mailing distribution to the recipients.
