To provide a method for regenerating gypsum from a gypsum board waste material, by which good quality gypsum easy to handle, having high purity and a large average grain diameter, and directly usable in the conventional applications of gypsum can be recovered from the gypsum board waste material.
The method for regenerating the gypsum from the gypsum board waste material is a method for regenerating the gypsum in the gypsum board waste material, in which the gypsum in the gypsum board waste material is crushed, and then the crushed gypsum is dissolved in an aqueous medium containing a seed crystal of gypsum, for regenerating the gypsum, wherein the total cumulative pore volume of the gypsum after crushing is controlled to be ≤1 mL/g.
