Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slag treatment method capable of efficiently extracting the silica and magnesia components included in a slag to make use thereof as the raw materials of commercial products.SOLUTION: A slag treatment method for extraction of silica and magnesia includes: an acid treatment process of reacting a slag with an added hydrochloric acid solution; a liquid-solid separation process of separating a solid material from a filtrate by filtration of a slurry formed through the acid treatment process; a silica separation process of separating silica from the solid material; a refining process of removing impurities in the filtrate except a magnesium chloride solution to obtain the magnesium chloride solution; and a magnesia separation process of concentrating and pyrolyzing the magnesium chloride solution to separate magnesia.
