To provide an apparatus for controlling hue fluctuations of printed matter by measuring a reflecting density within a range controlled by one inking key on a pattern and controlling the opening degree of the inking key of a printing press on the basis of the measured result.
A printed matter to be inspected is irradiated with lights from a white light source part 1 and a red light source part 2 and the reflecting densities of Y, M, C and BK are measured on the basis of the signal from a timing generation part 7 by first and second reflecting density measuring parts 5, 6 and an average measured value corresponding to a definite number of times is compared with the density value of an OK sheet by a numerical value operation part 6 and the opening degree of an inking key corresponding to this comparison value is referred to by setting the opening degree of the inking key of a printing press to control the hue fluctuations of printed matter.
