Abstract:

To provide compositions comprising human placental telopeptide collagen, methods of preparing the compositions, methods of their use, and kits comprising the compositions.SOLUTION: A composition comprises base-treated, detergent-treated telopeptide placental collagen, and further comprises 3-5 wt.% of elastin, and less than 0.01 wt.% of laminin or less than 0.01 wt.% of fibronectin. The placental collagen is human placental collagen and cross-linked with glutaraldehyde.EFFECT: The compositions, kits and methods are useful, for example, for augmenting or replacing tissue of a mammal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
