Abstract:

To provide a hybrid compressor which smoothly switches a drive source from an engine to an electric motor and a control system for the same.

A hybrid compressor selectively using an engine and a motor is disclosed. The hybrid compressor is provided with a variable displacement compressor 1. When the variable displacement compressor 1 is driven by a motor 4, a cooling power of a refrigerating circuit including the hybrid compressor is adjusted by controlling an inclined angle of a swash plate and a rotating speed of a motor 4. In this case, the inclined angle of the swash plate and the rotating speed of the motor 4 is controlled such that the motor 4 is reasonably driven with high efficiency to generate a required cooling power. Therefore, the hybrid compressor is constantly operated with best efficiency.
