Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sufficient heating performance with a high energy efficiency and less waste by operating an engine by considering the necessity of heating in a compartment.
SOLUTION: When an air conditioner 76 is ON, a room temperature is detected with an indoor sensor 72, and engine water temperature is detected by an engine water temperature sensor 74. A temperature difference ΔT between a room temperature and set temperature of an air conditioner 76 is calculated, and a criterion T(x) is set based on the engine water temperature and whether a motor vehicle is in driving state or not. And if the temperature difference ΔT exceeds the criterion T(x), a judgment to operate an internal combustion engine 12 for heating is made. Also, the criterion T(x) becomes high as the engine water temperature increases and a higher value is obtained during vehicle driving than that at a stop state. That is, if the engine water temperature is high immediately after stopping of the internal combustion engine, for example, it can be used as it is as a heat source for heating, and it is not required to immediately operate the internal combustion engine 12.
