PURPOSE: To provide a hybrid vehicle in which the residual amount of a battery is used with good efficiency up to the arrival at a destination in which a charging operation is performed next by a method wherein, on the basis of a running distance up to the destination, in which the charging operation is performed, from a starting place in which a charging operation has been performed, a power consumption amount per running distance of the residual amount of the battery is decided and, on the basis of the power consumption amount, the electric power of the battery is supplied to a motor.
CONSTITUTION: According to a power consumption amount planned by a navigation ECU 30 which computes a present position and which guides a route up to a target point, a vehicle ECU 20 controls a motor 14 and a gasoline internal-combustion engine 10, and a hybrid vehicle is run. In addition, the navigation ECU 30 computes a target- battery-residual-amount instruction (h) on the basis of the computed present position of the vehicle, of a battery-residual-amount signal 9 and of the schedule of a battery consumption amount, and it gives the instruction to the vehicle ECU 20. Thereby, since the capacity of a battery is used to a maximum on the basis of a running plan, the discharge of CO, is suppressed, and the electric power of the battery can be used reasonably. As a result, the consumption of energy can be reduced.
