PURPOSE: To enable a screw axis to rotate independently via the reciprocating motion of a piston coupled in a cylinder tube by providing a plurality of guide bodies for the piston, and supporting the axis on the guide bodies.
CONSTITUTION: This hydraulic cylinder 1 comprises a piston 4 coupled to a cylinder tube 2 in such a way as capable of free reciprocation, and the piston 4 is internally fitted with the first and second guide bodies 7 and 8. Also, a pair of screw axes 5 and 6 are inserted in the cylinder tube 2 through an end cover 3 fixed to the end of the tube 2 at the opposite side of an axis head, and a pair of the guide bodies 7 and 8 respectively clamp the screw sections of the axes 5 and 6. Due to this construction, each of the axes 5 and 6 is caused to rotate with the reciprocating motion of the piston 4, and the piston 4 becomes open to two chambers divided therewith in the tube 2. The piston 4 is caused to reciprocate by controlling the supply and discharge of a fluid to the first and second passages 9 and 10.
