To enough enlarge the torque capacity of a clutch in a hydraulic torque transmission device having a lockup clutch and a power interrupting clutch.
A torque converter 1 is provided with a torus 6, the power interrupting clutch 7, and the lockup clutch 12. The torus 6 has an impeller 4 fixed to a front cover 3 to form a fluid chamber, and a turbine 10 disposed opposite to the impeller 4. The power interrupting clutch 7 has an annular clutch part 35 capable of transmitting and interrupting torque between the turbine 10 and a main drive shaft 2. The lockup clutch 12 has an annular clutch part 36 capable of transmitting and interrupting torque between the front cover 3 and the main drive shaft 2. Both clutch parts 35, 36 are disposed on the outer peripheral side of the torus 6.
