PURPOSE: To constitute an interruption mechanism to use as a long stroke distance as possible for a piston when axial expansion is reduced as much as possible.
CONSTITUTION: In a hydraulically operated interruption mechanism for automobile friction clutch constituted of a piston cylinder unit arranged concentrically for a gear input shaft, a cylinder of the unit is fixed to a gear box and has a cylinder chamber 18 for piston 9 between an inside cylinder peripheral wall 1 and an outside cylinder peripheral wall 2. Further, the piston 9 itself is guided by the inside of a guide member 4 held by the outside cylinder peripheral wall 2 and the outside cylinder peripheral wall 2 adjacent to the guide member 4 has at least one pressing member 8 engaged to the guide member 4. By the pressing member 8, the guide member 4 is secured against a connection and participation in piston motion at the time of an interruption. When the piston 9 performs axial displacement caused by wear of the friction clutch, an action of the pressing member 8 for moving motion of the guide member 4 can be suppressed via the piston 9.
