PURPOSE: To obtain a novel hydrazone derivative which exhibits satisfactory acceptability to warm-blooded animals, fishes and plants and effectively controls injurious organisms.
CONSTITUTION: The objective hydrozone derivative is represented by the formula [wherein (m) is 0-4; (n) is 0-5; R1 and R17 are each a halogen, a (halo)1-8C alkyl, phenoxy, phenylthio, a (halo)1-8C alkylthio, OSO2R4 or the like; X is S and R2 is H or R21 and R3 is R31, OR2 or the like; X is O and R2 is R21 and R3 is R31, or R2 is H and R3 is R8OR9, R8OCOR9 or the like; R4 is a (halo)1-8C alkyl or a halo-1-8C alkoxy; R21 is a (halo)1-8C alkyl, a 3-6C cycloalkyl, a substitutable phenyl or the like; R31 is a (halo)1-8C alkyl, a 3-6C cycloalkyl, a 2-8C alkynyl or the like; R8 is (CR15R16)p (wherein (p) is 1-4; and R15 and R16 are each H, a 1-8C alkyl or a substitutable phenyl); and R9 is a 1-8C alkyl, a 2-8C alkenyl, benzyl, a substitutable phenyl or the like] and includes, e.g. 4-chloro-4'-trifluoromethanesulfonyloxy-benzophenone-N-formyl-N- methylhydrazone.
