Abstract:

To provide a hydrocarbon adsorbent for exhaust that is high in HC desorption start temperature of adsorbed HC, and can express higher HC purification performance at a cold start, and a method for producing the same, and an HC trap for exhaust purification.SOLUTION: A hydrocarbon adsorbent for exhaust at least contains an MSE-type zeolite, and potassium and X supported on the MSE-type zeolite (where X is at least one element selected from the group consisting of alkali metals, alkaline-earth metals, and transition metals, excluding K). The MSE-type zeolite has a silica-alumina ratio (SiO2/Al2O3) of 10 or more and 100 or less in molar ratio, and the ratio of X to potassium (X/K) is 2.0 or more and 25.0 or less in molar ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: None
