Abstract:
To provide a hydrocarbon polymer for electrolyte membrane of fuel cells having high durability, an electrolyte membrane of fuel cell produced by using the polymer and a fuel cell produced by using the electrolyte membrane.
The hydrocarbon polymer has a specific repeating unit. The repeating unit is characterized in that the HOMO (highest occupied molecular orbital) value on a calculation oligomer composed of four consecutive repeating units and calculated by a quantum chemical calculation method is lower than a comparative HOMO value obtained on a comparative oligomer composed of four consecutive repeating units expressed by formula I and calculated by the quantum chemical calculation method.
