To provide another technique for improving purity of a produced gas in a hydrocarbon production apparatus.SOLUTION: A hydrocarbon production apparatus comprises: a reactor that houses a catalyst containing a metal with hydrocarbon synthesis catalyst performance and a metal with carbon dioxide occlusion performance; a raw material gas supply unit that is connected to the reactor and supplies a raw material gas containing carbon dioxide to the reactor; a hydrogen supply unit that is connected to the reactor and supplies hydrogen to the reactor; a gas discharge unit that is connected to the reactor and discharges the gas inside the reactor by creating a negative pressure inside the reactor; and a control unit that controls the raw material gas supply unit, the hydrogen supply unit, and the gas discharge unit. The control unit causes the raw material gas supply unit to supply the raw material gas to the reactor, and then causes the gas discharge unit to discharge the gas inside the reactor, and then causes the hydrogen supply unit to supply the hydrogen to the reactor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
