PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for avoiding error detection of gas leakage by a microcomputer meter while suppressing deterioration of a catalyst.SOLUTION: The hydrogen generation device (200) has a reformer (1), an electric heater (5) heating the reformer (1), a gas supply passage (6) connected to the reformer (1) for supplying a raw material gas to the reformer (1), a valve (7) arranged in the gas supply passage (6), and a controller (30) conducting control for energizing the electric heater (5) so that the reformer (1) is heated with keeping the valve (7) closed when operation of the hydrogen generation device (200) is stopped.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
