To provide a method and apparatus by which high-purity hydrogen production and carbon dioxide recovery can be efficiently carried out.
The hydrogen production and carbon dioxide recovery method for producing hydrogen from carbon-containing fuel and recovering carbon dioxide includes: a membrane separation reforming step of separating hydrogen while reforming carbon-containing fuel with a reformer including a hydrogen-permeable membrane to obtain gas which has permeated the hydrogen-permeable membrane and reformer off-gas which does not permeate the hydrogen-permeable membrane; a shift reaction step of bringing the reformer off-gas into a shift reaction; and a carbon dioxide separation step of separating gas passed through the shift reaction step into gas enriched with carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide separation off-gas which is gas enriched with components other than carbon dioxide.
