Abstract:

PURPOSE: To achieve a long life of an electrode by composing the electrode using hydrogen storage alloy in which phases mainly comprising ZrNi are formed partly in alloy.

CONSTITUTION: Hydrogen storage alloy having a main alloy phase of a C14 or C15 Laves phase structure having phases mainly comprising ZrNiα(13≤α≤1.8) partly formed in its alloy is used to comose an electrode. The phases mainly comprising ZrNiα(1≤α≤1.8) existing in the alloy are not only of two element alloy of Zr and Ni, but they may be of multi-element alloy of three or more elements of Zr(Ni+M)α(1≤α≤1.8), where M is one sort or more selected among Mg, Ca, Ti, Hf, V, Nb, Cr, Mo, Mn, Fe, Co, Pd, Cu, Ag, Zn, Cd, Al, Si, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, etc.
